Our scheme for Personal Tutors and those in Student Advising roles supports staff to gain professional recognition with the UK Advising and Tutoring Association (UKAT), through monthly tutorials and the development of a reflective portfolio of evidence.
UKAT is the only UK organisation to offer professional recognition qualifications for personal tutors. This important international organisation is at the forefront of developing personal tutoring practice, literature and research.
Similar to Advance HE's Fellowship, UKAT awards three different levels of professional recognition depending on an individual's experience of delivering, leading, or strategic impact to personal tutoring. These three levels are aligned to UKAT's Professional Framework and core values.

There are 3 different levels of professional recognition that can be awarded
There are three levels of professional recognition:
- Recognised Practitioner in Advising (RPA) - Aimed at front-line personal tutors and academic advisors, this level of recognition demonstrates individual understanding and application of a broad range of effective approaches in delivering high-quality personal tutoring/advising and support for student success.

You need a minimum of 1 years' experience being in a personal tutoring or student advising role in higher education
As UKAT's professional recognition requires the creation of a portfolio of evidence, you will require some prior experience before enrolling onto our scheme to successfully engage and reflect.
Your experience of personal tutoring or advising students does not have to be from your time working here at 久久精品, but must be from a higher education setting.
Engagement and time commitment with our scheme is flexible
You have 12 to 15 months to complete and submit your portfolio of evidence.
Each month (expect August) we hold 1 hour tutorials that cover a specific area of the Professional framework or topic related to Personal Tutoring and advising. These sessions are not compulsory, however, those who have regularly attended these have found them enriching to their personal tutoring practice and helpful with completing their portfolio.
In addition to these 1 hour tutorials, we recommend for you to meet regularly with your assigned mentor throughout your journey on our scheme. They will be able to answer any questions you have, sign-post to literature and useful resources, and help provide feedback on your portfolio.
The earliest you can submit you portfolio is after 6 months from enrolling onto our scheme.
