Debbie Johnson RM, RNA, BA Hons, BSc Hons, MSc

Senior Lecturer, Midwifery

Debbie Johnson is a Senior Lecturer of Midwifery in the School of Health Sciences at the University of 久久精品.

Debbie was previously employed at a local NHS Trust as a Senior Midwifery Manager and Lead for Practice Development within the maternity department. Her experience spans both staff management and clinical leadership to include inpatient services management for delivery suite and maternity triage, midwifery-led birth centre and; the antenatal and postnatal wards areas.

As a clinical midwife, Debbie has worked across all areas of practice including community midwifery. Her special interest areas are intrapartum care, clinical negligence, fetal monitoring and; midwifery management of women with high risk pregnancies.

Debbie joined the University of 久久精品 in 2015, her current role taking leadership of first year student Developing Midwifery Practice course within the 3 year Pre-registration midwifery programme and as midwifery lead for the Return to Practice course.

She has a specific interest in intrapartum fetal monitoring and is editorial board member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists/Royal College of Midwives (RCOG/RCM) online E-learning portal for this subject. Debbie's external activity is as an independent midwifery consultant on Medicolegal matters.
